Apr 21, 2020

Shopping for a family-friendly vehicle that has the features you want at an affordable price can be a challenge. If you’re in this situation, check out the Outlander, a stylish and economical crossover SUV that comes with a long list of standard and available features, along with space for your entire crew.

Recently Refreshed Exterior

Mitsubishi has two SUVs in its lineup with similar names – the Outlander and Outlander Sport. The Outlander is the three-row option that’s designed for families, offering seating for up to seven passengers. The automotive manufacturer recently refreshed the styling of this SUV, showcasing new and improved features. Even the base model comes equipped with LED running lights and taillights, 18-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, heated side mirrors, and all-season tires.

Comfortable, Connected Cabin

The cabin of the 2020 Outlander is spacious and comfortable, even for those in the second row. The third row provides space for younger, smaller passengers, or you can fold the seats down to increase the cargo capacity. Standard interior features include dual-zone automatic climate control with second-row air vents, cloth upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a sliding, reclining, and folding second-row seat. Technology features include a six-speaker audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, a 7-inch touch screen, and voice controls.

With the higher trim levels, you can get more luxurious features like leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and a premium nine-speaker Rockford Fosgate sound system. The top GT trim has a few sporty upgrades, such as chrome accents and steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

High-End Safety Equipment

When it comes to keeping your precious cargo safe, the Outlander doesn’t disappoint. The base trim includes anti-lock brakes, airbags throughout the cabin, a rearview camera, traction and stability control, and an anti-theft alarm system with engine immobilizer. The upper trims also include automatic high beams, lane departure warning, and forward-collision warning with automatic braking and pedestrian detection. Additional optional features are adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert and lane change assist, which do come standard on the GT.

Efficient and Easy to Drive

The 2020 Outlander is one of the most efficient models you can get in the three-row SUV segment. According to EPA estimates, this vehicle will return 25 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway with the base four-cylinder engine. That unit is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 166 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with a continuously variable transmission that contributes to its efficiency.

If you want more power, you can get a 3.0-liter V-6 engine rated at 215 pound-feet of torque and 224 horsepower. This engine works with a conventional six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive as standard. With either engine option, the Outlander is easy to drive with precise handling and a brake pedal that doesn’t require too much force.
